I am a silent daily admirer. Your header looks very good, although it goes off-screen (i.e. too long) on my 1024 x 768 setting, unlike the old header.

I LOVE the new header! It looks awesome fully colored too!
It's much more compact than the previous header but matches the scale of the blog better in my opinion.
